American console manufacturere PlayStation surprised everyone yesterday with the announcement of the DualSense. This will be the new PlayStation5 controller and will automatically replace what we are accustomed to, the DualShock controllers. This new move has been seen as a,mong the ways the company is reinforcing the evolution to next-gen consoles.
There is a lot to talk about in the new DualSense controllers including the haptic response functions and extras like adaptive triggers and the built in microphone. However, there’s one interesting thing about this new controller, the battery life which Sony had promised to improve.

One of the shortcomings of the DualShock 4 controllers was the poor battery performance characterized by short runtime. In yesterday’s announcement, PlayStation assured gamers that the new controller wil have a better battery
”We’ve reached an exciting milestone with PlayStation 5, as we’re starting to ship our new controller in its final design to developers who are implementing its unique features into their games. But first, we wanted everyone in the PlayStation community to get a first look at the DualSense™ wireless controller, and hear our vision for how the new controller will captivate more of your senses as you interact with the virtual worlds in PS5 games. The features of DualSense, along with PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech, will deliver a new feeling of immersion to players.” Said the company on the official PlayStation blog.
Unfortunately, the company has remained liptied regarding the actual performance of the battery – talk of the capacity, runtime and other specs.
Another thing that the company has made clear is the colors available. While the previous controllers were made available in a single base color, the DualSense PS5 controlers will come with a two-tone design. In addition, the light bar that is on top of the Dua;lShock 4 controller has nbeen moved to each side of the touch pad giving it an extra pop.
